Crazy is the word these days. I've been running around getting myself ready to go to Hawai'i!I've been spending a ton of money while doing it, too! Yikes! And I'll be spending a ton of it while IN Hawai'i! Yikes! But I am so excited beyond words. In less than a day, I'll be basking in the sunlight of the Big Island itself. Hawai'i. The two women girls that I am going with keep calling me up, and we end up giggling to each other as we recite the things that we're bringing, and asking each other stuff like, Are you packed yet? My answer, OF COURSE, is almost always a firm No way. However, I've now boiled it down to a Well, I'm mostly packed. Then I get a message on my machine from Katy. "Don't forget your curling iron." Click. An hour later she calls again. "I'm bringing my hair dryer, so don't bring yours." Click. I call Patsy up. "Hey, we're bringing a curling iron and hair dryer. You bring hairspray!" Click. It's like a game of tag, and all we can think of is... We're gonna hula! Yeah, we're just a little bit excited.
Two of the three of us have never been to Hawai'i before, and the other one had so much fun the last time she was there that she is just eggin' us on! Remember the C&H Sugar commercial years back? C&H... From Hawai'i (From Hawai'i...) That's all that I remember, but I used to love those commercials. All the little kids running around singing the song. Ah yes, them's the days. (Yes, I meant to say that.) I gave little Lucky-boy a bath today. One of my across-the-street-and-down-a-house-or-two neighbors is going to be looking after him while I am gone. She's the secretary at my school, so it works out very well. Lucky likes her, and she likes Lucky. He'll be staying in the bathroom while I'm gone. I realize this sounds cruel, but the last time I left him for a week, I came home to about 20-30 different places in my house where he had either tinkled or pooed...or both. I am not wanting that to happen again! The nice thing about the woman who will be caring for him is that she has already said that she is going to free him from his "prison" a lot. She is planning to take him for walks and also over to her house for a bit. (She has grass in her yard! Lucky won't know what to do! Remember, I live in the desert! Sand is what most of us common folk have in our yards. Heheh.) She'll take good care of him. I'll have to remember to bring her something from Hawai'i! Well, it's getting late, and I still have to straighten the house. It won't take long, but I want to sleep in until 5 A.M. Yep, I have to leave early. Our flight is at 10:30 A.M., but they are insisting that we be there three hours in advance. Bwah! Wonder if I'll even be able to sleep. I think I'll be dancing in my dreams!
Aloha! I shall return on the 8th... maybe. ;-)
