Happy birthday to me!

Errrr.... It's my birthday today! I am 33 years old. Ya know, that's the age Jesus was when he died.

I had a nice day, too. Well, it was pleasant enough! ;-)

Last night my friend Patsy called and asked if I would like to do a few errands with her because she'd like to take me to lunch. Well, she knew that I'd say yes to a free lunch! And she knew exactly where I'd want to go. She and I are both fanatics of Olive Garden's salad. So we made plans for lunch and a movie.

Before she arrived, our friend Katy dropped by to give me my birthday gift. She's so cool. My friends (all of them) really have it together when it comes to birthdays! I need to work on that.

After visiting for a while with Katy, Patsy and I got into our cars and drove down below to meet at the movie theater. (We were driving our own cars because she would be going elsewhere after our plans, and I needed to stay down there for my own reasons.)

We saw "Mr. Deeds". It was cute. It's definitely no Oscar contender, but then again, it is Adam Sandler! The story was touching and very entertaining. Definitely worth a matinee! After the movie, we drove over to Olive Garden and had our salads. They also have this delicious summer dessert called Berries and Zambione (or something like that). Ohhhhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyy. It's fresh strawberries and blueberries on top of a small scoop of orange sorbet, topped with some Italian custardy cream called zambione. Nuuuuuuuummmmmy! Having a salad and then that dessert is such a pleasant summer lunch!

Throughout the day I received some calls from friends and spent a lot of time talking. It was just one of those pleasant days, ya know? A smile was pretty much set on my face the entire day. It helped ease the pain of... well... turning another year older!

Oh, and I had another visitor! A couple of months ago I started seeing this little hummingbird that would fly around. I then went to WalMart and bought a hummingbird feeder. It's been hanging out there since. Of course, since it's been there, I haven't seen the little guy much. Just yesterday or the day before when I went walking with Lucky, I noticed that the feeder was still full. The amount had decreased a bit with evaporation, I'm sure. Today? All the juice was gone! Gone, I say! I went out and got it to wash and refill. I didn't have it hanging outside for fifteen minutes when a hummingbird landed and started drinking! I grabbed my camera and took an incredibly poor photo of the event. I'm so excited. I never thought a bird would excite me, but hummingbirds are so dang cute!

Later that evening, I rented a video. I got it for free from Hollywood Video because it was my birthday. Pretty cool, huh?

The rest of the evening was mine. I rested, relaxed, and enjoyed being in my own company. Life is good.
