What a great vacation thus far!
I've really done very little. ;-)
On Saturday, my teacher friend and I went down below to return some of the supplies that we bought for next year. We over did it, so we had to make some returns. Ooops!
When Patsy got here, she realized that she forgot the receipts at school. I had a meeting that I had to go to for just a bit, so we ended up going in separate cars. She'd run to school and meet me down there. We could have driven together, but by the time we got to school and back, I'd most likely be late for my meeting. No problem.
We returned the things and then we went to Olive Garden for lunch. The best lunch in the world is their salad (all you can eat) with the berries zambione (sp?). It's filling, but not heavy. Num num!
After lunch, we ran the mall because we had some time left. I found some nice walking sneakers. Since I've been walking a lot lately, I wanted to make sure I had GOOD shoes. I might as well! They are so comfy. I seriously couldn't wait until the next time I walked. ;-)
It was so hot in Palm Springs! Patsy had said, as we got back into the steaming hot car, that when your earrings are so hot that they hurt when they touch our skin, you know it's hot! Yep, it was that hot. Dangling bracelets or earrings (metal ones anyway) get so hot, that when they dangle and brush against your skin, it smarts a bit. Heheh.
We saw The Sum of All Fears. It was really good, in my humble opinion. I am one who enjoys movies; I am not a critic. There are movies that don't suit my tastes, and I'll always be happy to indulge in the reasons, but I find myself really going to watch. Some people didn't like this movie. They thought it was too hard to get past Ben Affleck being a younger Jack. Well, it happens, and he did fine job! The storyline was well done and very interesting. I liked it!
After the movie, I dropped Patsy off at her car, and I drove home. I couldn't wait to get those walking sneakers on my tootsies. As soon as I got home, I got into my walking clothes and put on my cd walkman, and got Lucky leashed. We went on a long walk. The shoes are fabulous! It was like walking on air. My feet took a bit to get accustomed to such luxury, but finally they did.
I am really enjoying this whole walking thing.
Sunday...
I did absolutely nothing today! I didn't even get dressed and go outside. Yikes!
I did get an interesting phone call from a friend of mine back home. He never initiates a call. How weird is that? We talked for nearly two hours. I told him a little about my job status (unknown), which he "had heard", and he kept telling me that maybe it was time that I come home.
Very bizarre. Heheh.
