a slight addendum to the power-hungry mail man!

Yesterday I wrote about my power-hungry mail man. After further consideration, I changed the letter that I left in the mailbox for him.
Dear Mail Delivery Person,
I would hardly call a few days’ worth of junk mail, “getting full”. Inside the box were Wednesday and Sunday’s junk flyer packet, two catalogues, and two pieces of ‘real’ mail, one of which wasn’t even mine. This is hardly worth the effort that it took to write your letter, although I do appreciate the forewarning this time.
My residence-related bills are the only mail that I receive at this address; the rest goes to my P.O. box. My bills don’t usually come until the middle of the month, so the first couple of weeks, I walk out to collect mail about once a week or so. The last two weeks of the month I check it several times a week. This is what I would consider to be collecting my mail “on a regular basis”.
You have already withheld my mail because you decided that I no longer lived here, locked my mailbox, and left a note for the ‘next occupant’. That little effort on your part cost me several late payments on my utility bills. Since then, I have not let mail go by for more than five days in a row (and that is only during the first half of the month – such as this last time.)
I appreciate your effort, but I sincerely ask that you accept this as notice of my attention to my mailbox. If I should choose to take an extended vacation or move, I will most certainly take care of forwarding my mail. I always do. (I know you wouldn’t know that, but now you do. )
I wish you a very pleasant day.
