Here's just a little advice for those who:choose, for some insane reason, to cut their own hair --> put your glasses on first (or put contacts in!) - Cutting hair when you can't clearly see is not the brightest thing to do. like white socks and buy a lot --> buy the same kind, same style! - When you do laundry, then go to find a pair of socks, chances are you'll keep pulling out sock after sock after sock that doesn't "match". Yep, that's how my day started today! *laughing* It was an interesting day. I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed at school because of how far behind we seem to be. Project after project gets shelved because we run out of time. We run out of time because some of the basics just take so darn long! There are also times that we start projects and can't find the time to finish them. Well, today was that day. I taught one lesson at the end of the day - Math. The whole rest of the day was spent catching up on things that we had started. The kids did their morning work, then made their science notecards on the experiment process (test next week). When they finished with that, they finished their science notebook, their book reports that were started last Wednesday, their quilt memory paragraphs, and any other work that they had not yet finished. Wow! What a great day! I feel so much better about where we are. Things kept piling up and piling up until I was finding it hard to breathe - hence my emotional breakdown last Friday! ;-) We are now caught up! Of course, I still have a few students that need to finish things. I have one student that works soooooooooooo slowly! He will not be seeing another recess for about a month! Argh! I keep trying to find another speed on him, but he apparently came with only one - slow motion. Ahhhhh... the joys of teaching. Have I mentioned lately how much I enjoy my job? ;-) ~*~*~*~*~*~I stayed at school until almost 7pm today. Good golly! I had to get things ready for my Sub tomorrow. I thought that I might have time to work on the plans today while the kids were working on their make-up work. No such luck. I had a continuous line at my desk for one thing or another. That's okay.... that's why I'm there! ;P I enjoy helping the kids, and I think that the students can really sense that. I enjoy helping them come to their own conclusions; I do not give answers to students, but I do help them work them out. The bright-eyed looks on their faces when they finally figure something out, or they catch their own mistake, is amazing! It makes it all worthwhile. *making a mental note to remember this fact the next time that I feel like pulling out my hair* TechConnect is tomorrow. I am so upset about the lack of communication regarding this workshop. I have not received any emails since November. One of my colleagues printed out all of her emails regarding the workshop and gave them to me today. I find out, a day before the workshop, that in order to receive salary advancement credit, there are things that I would have had to have done. Well, not knowing that, I didn't get those certain things done. Dagnabit! So, c'est la vie to that advancement for next year! *pout* I am being picked up by another colleague tomorrow to ride to the workshop together. The sun rises awfully early on my day. Signing off to catch some Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......
