Well, I guess the weekend of doing nothing really paid off. While I was a bit hurried yesterday, as every first day of the week, today was much more laid back. First thing this morning I was observed by the principal. It's something that is done twice a year, every other year. This was my year. Yesterday before I left school I realized that I didn't want to do a sing-and-dance lesson. Although I enjoy doing those every now and again, this year I rarely have time to step aside from our regular curriculum to do those. So, I opted to stay in step with my plans and just teach out of our new writing series - 6+1 Traits. It went wonderfully. The students seemed to be engaged, and most did a fairly good job at the writing activity. We still have a ways to go! But, boy, do I feel refreshed. I have a whole new outlook on my school days. Yes, there are still frustrating moments, and I don't think that they have spontaneously combusted, but I have a fresher outlook to the rest of the year. Yay!!I copied all of my journal entries over here from another journal/diary. I love LiveJournal, and I'll continue to use it for more of a weblog, but as I am finding myself lured by the journal rings that are out there, thereby needing a bit of a different format. Also, LJ has been ultra-finicky lately, and if I am part of these rings, I can't have my entries linked to a place that sometimes does and sometimes does not open. I'll still be writing there, though, with smaller entries and link to the diaryland site, just as LiveJournal is linked in Diaryland (Weblog). I may also be creating my own site for the purpose of journaling.
